En ole satavarma pitääkö kaikki tuossa seuraavassa "luettelossa" paikkansa, mutta esim tuollainen lista löytyi saab-centralin sivuilta ja kyllähän tältäkin puolen haulla löytyy aika paljon tietoo.

The Turbocharger was changed for the Aero engine.

B207L: 12 755 106
B207R: 12 788 719

The "R" engine got a different intake manifold.

B207E-L: 55 352 121
B207R: 55 352 128

Also a different PCV valve:

B207E-L: 12 786 376
B207R: 12 797 658

The "R" engine again got a different fuel rail and injectors:

Fuel Rails:

B207E-L: 12 790 824
B207R: 12 790 826

Injectors:

B207E-L: 12 801 655
B207R: 12 801 656

The "R" engine also got a different flywheel (55 353 856), and the "L" and "R" engine share a screw which has a different part number on the "E" engine.

All of the bottom-end internals appear to be the same including connecting rods, pistons, crankshaft, and bearings.

The "R" engine got a different cyllinder head assembly:

B207E-L: 55 353 477
B207R: 55 353 478

The reason for the different assembly part numbers may only be a result of camshafts inside the head which were changed. It may also have a different casting. There is no EPC listing for the bare head itself.

The "R" engine got different camshafts on both intake and exhaust, but all other parts inside the head appear to be the same. Here are the "R" spec camshaft part numbers. (I'm assuming no one wants the "E" and "L" PNs.)

Intake: 12 792 364
Exhaust: 12 788 844

The "R" engine also got a different valve cover. (12 797 659)

Nearly every engine/trans combination got its own unique clutch. This may be why lower model versions with PPC upgrades experience clutch slip.

Gearbox assemblies are the same for all B207 engines. Lots was changed between 5 and 6 speed transmissions. (Almost everything that touches it in fact ... even some of the engine PNs vary from it.) It will be hard, but not impossible, to upgrade after the fact.

The "L" and "R" engines got a beefier driveshaft than the "E" engine.

The "R" engine got beefier brake rotors, the diameter of which has already been mentioned. What has not been mentioned is that they are also 28 mm thick instead of 25 mm on the front as in the rest of the models.

Also, in everywhere BUT the US and Canada, the front rotors are 12.4" instead of 11.9" in diameter on the "R" engine cars.

There is also a limited amount of part number confusion regarding brake rotors. For instance PN 24 435 132 appears to be for Aero chassis only, irrespective of the engine ordered. (All of the Aero's should have the "R" engine, but some of the other cars have that engine too.)

The Aero also appears to get it's own special brake housing. (Caliper.) And the carrier spec appears to depend on the size of the wheel spec'ed for the car, as does the spring-clip.

Pads for the front brakes on Aero models with 16" or larger wheels is PN [12 802 167] and is different from the standard brake pad kit.
