Re: chassis number...

I've decided to stay away from this car. It's really crap because it was a very nice 3 door turbo for a reasonable price. These cars are getting a bit rare nowadays. I compared the chassis number to my 900's. I can see that the welding is a bit different, but one who is not really aware of this will...

Re: chassis number...

The chassis number was changed on the car probably due to avoid import tax ~10-15 years ago by someone (not the current owner).

According to the 900 serial number decoder, the serial no. is for a 5 door car. This is a 3 door coupe.

I assume that the serial no decoder is correct.

chassis number...

Hi Guys, I have almost purchased a 3 door Saab 900 turbo coupe. However it turned out that its chassis number has been replaced with an other model's number. The car papers are issued to the other number. The current owner has been owning the car for many years and he was likely not aware of this. T...

9-3 vs 9-3 OG

Hello Guys, The day has come and today I'll have to replace my 900 OG turbo. :( I narrowed down the choices to two cars. A) 2002 9-3 SE 2.0 with 185 HP (tuned to 200hp) (black leather seats with memory) or B) 2004 9-3 1.8t Linear (150 hp) no leather seats, but the white material... the interior has ...

Saab 9-5 Quality

Hello Guys, I am hesitating to buy a Saab 9-5. Price is quite nice, but what I know is that quality is not really there..... Are these cars really as bad as their reputation? How costly are the spare parts? Edit: There is a 1998 SAAB 9-5 2.0 SE ECO which raised my interest. The car really gained umy...

Re: LPT to FPT. Is b202 good enough?

Hi,

Could someone post a picture where the R pipe from the solenoid valve connects to the air pipe from the AMM?

It seems that the LPT version does not have this connector on my car and I have to make it myself...

Kiitos,
:saab:

Re: LPT to FPT. Is b202 good enough?

Its Hungary and I moved back several months ago. I do not know why we have so few classic 900s here... In 89/90 the country transformed from communism to democracy... Economy went down. 900s were very expensive cars, even the ones who managed to import one could not afford the repair costs. The used...

Re: LPT to FPT. Is b202 good enough?

I'll send you a PM JCarlson and thanks for the advices. ... and sorry for writing in English in a Finish forum :) I moved to a country where 900 OGs are very rare, most of them ended up in the junk yard many years ago. so local forums are rather dead... By the way, for you guys who are thinking to d...

Re: LPT to FPT. Is b202 good enough?

I took the car for a test drive. The engine pulls better which is sweet. :) What is not so sweet when I floor it, sometimes the engine stalls for a second. This happens especially in 3rd gear (I don't dare to floor it in 1-2 gear, after all this is a 21 year old car...). All in all, do I have the is...

Re: LPT to FPT. Is b202 good enough?

Hi, I spent my whole morning under the car. I still could not remove the lower dash fascia, even though I removed all the visible screws. (even the one behind the ashtray) Something holds it back in the middle. Anyway, I managed to mount the new overpressure switch + pressure transducer. Does the pr...

Re: LPT to FPT. Is b202 good enough?

I found an ECU unit, a pressure transducer and a overpressure switch from a scrap yard. Paid 30 Eur for these. ECU no is 0280000521 which is supposed to be a 16V FPT unit. I guess I just need replace the LPT version with this one and forget about the fuel cut issue. I could not remove the ...

Re: LPT to FPT. Is b202 good enough?

One last question :) I am following this guide: http://900aero.com/main/diy_main_lpt.htm and having trouble with this step: "3. Blue/red to the blue wire under the TSI socket (funny round 6 pin socket at the front of the fuse box)" Which pin is the blue/red wire exactly? I am having some d...

Re: LPT to FPT. Is b202 good enough?

Hi Guys, Few questions regarding to LTP->FPT mod. Where do I need to connect the "Pin 25: RPM in" from the APC box? Is the polarity important for the knock sensor or I just need to connect the two wires to pin 16/17 regardless of the order? I was hoping that I will not need a pressure tran...

Re: LPT to FPT. Is b202 good enough?

Hi, I have checked the part no. for the ECU: 8789661 Date Code: 0790 Made in UK 80105F I'd like to avoid spending $$$ on a new unit, so could anyone clarify that this one will cut at 0.6 bar? If so, is there a "workaround" to avoid this? I tried to search the web on this topic. There seems...

Re: LPT to FPT. Is b202 good enough?

Today I'll get the APC+solenoid valve+knock sensor. However this fuel chip stared to worry me.

How do I know if mine will not cut at 0.6 bar? Where is it located?

Car was first registered in 03-90.
