cheap Saab900 Turbo for sale?

Moro,

I'm a foreigner living in northern Finland and I want to own a Saab. (preferably 900 turbo 16v 2 doors )

Is there any in good condition for 1000-2000 EUR, or should I forget this?

I checked nettiauto several times, old Saabs (1985- 1992) seem to be damn cheap... but is it really possible to get a car for that price that actually works?

I am not a mechanic and I dont want to become one...

The 2D T16 is very uncommon in Finland - no T16s were sold between 1985-1989 here.

So the only ones you can find are engine swaps. Some are good, some are not. If you don't want to become a mechanic, I suggest saving up for the inevitable service expenses that will come your way.

If you want a turbo for 1-2k euros, then your best bet might be an early 90`s 16v LPT (low pressure turbo). No LPT`s available as 2D either though. (If by 2 doors you really mean a 2D sedan)

On the other hand in that price range you could find a VERY good non-turbo 16v.

No escaping some maintenance work and occasional repairs in a 15+ years old car I´m afraid.

Price is 2500,- e.(CAR IS SOLD) This one is in good condition as You probebly allredy notice if You read my site. Ive put a lot of money and time on this car to have it for a long time.... but I found something new that I just had to buy.

Surely I'd check your car, but it's just too far away. I am located in northern Finland, in Oulu area.

Why don't you drive up here?

By the way, anyone could give me some advice what should I check when buying the car? I've heard that corrosion is a problem at doors.... is there any other usual problems with old Saabs?

Corrosion, especially on doors, driveshaft tunnels and so on.
Gearbox is another thing that needs to be checked carefully, especially if car is turbo model.
