Sivupeilien kuorien irroittaminen?
Miten irroitetaan 2003-mallisen 9-5:n sivupeilien kuoret? Siis ne maalatut?

Tällainen löytyi toiselta palstalta. Ilmeisesti on pelkillä klipseillä kiinni, jos nyt oikein ymmärsin tästä loppuviestistä.
Edit: 9-5T ehtikin vastaamaan ensin.

Had the misfortune to clash mirrors recently on a narrow country road ( of which there are plenty in Norfolk!).
Fortunately, damage was restricted to the outer casing, the mirror and motor survived unscathed.
Our local dealer had a cover in stock, ready painted and let me have it for £35 - bargain!
I did a search and came up with a number of posts detailing how to do the job, consulted my Haynes manual and looked at Sgoulds' photos, however mine seemed a bit different so I assume Saab changed the mirror assembly for the facelift version?
If you need to do this the following may help:
Fold the mirror all the way forward
Put a piece of masking tape across the whole mirror to stop the glass falling out (or use a TomTom suction cup as suggested by Sgould).
Angle the inner edge out as much as possible
Look behind the mirrors inner edge for two ends of a 1mm wire spring, coloured silver.
Using a pair of long nosed pliers, grab the lower end and move it up and then toward the mirror to unhook it, similarly move the other down and toward the mirror.
Ease the mirror glass out and disconnect the electrics.
Remove four small screws and expect the cover to fall off.
Discover you've wasted your time as the cover is a clip-on push fit!
Yes, folks - all you have to do is prise off the old cover using a screwdriver and clip a new one on. Its easier to do if you fold the mirror in so the glass is parallel with the side window.
Refitting the glass is a lot easier than I remember on my old 9/5 - just hook the wire spring back on and gently push the glass back in to place until the spring clicks.
Hope this is of some help.
Russ.
