Hi,

First of all sorry that i write in English,,

I have bought a 95 SE 1998. And i am used to drive a NG900 1997.
The first thing i noticed is that the 95 is a lot more sensitive to over-steer in slippery conditions! I have nokia hakkapeliitta 4 which are in ok condition, the car has driven quite a lot. (370.000) Does anybody experience the same with his 95?
I would be ok if somebody would be willing to drive my car this weekend in the nokia event and is able to compare it to his own 95...
The alignment of the wheels has been performed quite recent and no problems were found.

Anyway thats just something i noticed.

The other thing, which is very common i understood already. Its the drivers side heating. (which doesn't blow any warm air.)
I found sites like http://www.saabservices.com/9-5%20ac.htm and others.
All say that you should see errors during the calibration procedure (AUTO&OFF)
But with me there is just a number 0 shown all the time.

Any tips are more than welcome.

No, exactly the opposite in my 9-5 when compared to OG9-3/NG900. The latter is a lot more prone to oversteer whereas the 9-5 is very composed and neutral in handling. I can get the rear end to slide out in an 9-5, but it really takes trying (especially compared to OG9-3 which was swinging the rear end out in every roundabout in winter), and you can feel the chassis trying to pull the car back in line quickly.

My old OG9-3 did have HKPL4 winter tires and the car had a very oversteering character, hard to say if any of it was because of the tires (which were crap) though.

I would suppose there's some problems with the rear suspension bushings/joints in your car, they are a common wear item in all 9-5's. Mine are almost new, but replaced by the previous owner so hard to say anything about the difference.

Sounds possible about the rear bushings, did not found any repairs on the rear when i checked the bills so far. (are you going to the wintertrack days in nokia?)

Do you also have any opinion about the heating?

Actually I just got my car inspected today and with the inspector we noted that the upper rear longtitudinal bushes were worn out. Not completely shot, but very much in need of replacement anyway. No oversteer problems though, at least not yet.

Yes, I'm coming to Nokia but I don't see any fun in going to the track with a FWD car and street tires so I won't visit it most likely.

As for the heating, probably ACC flap control motor has snapped the plastic axle. Repair kits are available from PCS/Speedparts at least.

And i noticed that the plastic part has been replaced before already. As you can see in this picture its the white one. This is from a saab service kit.

I noticed that turning the white thing around while the engine is running doesnt change the heat. So i fear that its broken inside... (It also feels very loose)

I ran the calibration ones again with the motor not attached. And the steppermotor is running fine. (It shows then 1 08 )
With the motor in place it shows 0 (no errors).

Any tips?

You can ask speedparts products from Pro-carservice jyväskylä, they also have 9-5 rear bushes

First of all, Cheers for PCS. I got my heating fixed with the kit they send me. Fast delivery! So im not freezing my *** anymore with this weather :mrgreen:

Now im wondering at the suspension.

Hello,

Does anybody know how to remove the seatbelts in the front from a 95?
I cannot get the belt of the chair as WIS explains here.

I think that the 3mm tels, that this tool forces the pin go in 3mm so the belt socket looses... But this is wild ques...

Meneekö toi tappi sisään 3 mm sisään jolloin solki vapautuu... villi arvaus !!!
