I have a 1998 900s with the 2.3 engine and 5 speed transmission. Just finished a clutch job but I can’t figure out how the shift linkage connects to the transmission.

It’s connected on the shifter side but it just slides on and off of the transmission side. Any help is valuable, thanks.

It sounds like you might be missing a clip or bolt that secures the shift linkage to the transmission. Check for any missing fasteners or worn bushings that could cause a loose fit. A repair manual for your model could really help if you’re still stuck. Good luck fixing it!
